Joel and Sheylenne's Revelstoke Wedding

When Joel and Sheylenne hired me with capturing their wedding day in Revelstoke, British Columbia, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable experience. Having spent a season exploring the hidden gems of this picturesque mountain town, I felt a special connection to the area, which made it even more exciting to help them find the perfect locations for their celebration.

Our journey began a day before the wedding, as we embarked on a quest to discover the most enchanting spots Revelstoke had to offer. For Sheylenne, the ski hill held a special place in her heart, so it was essential to find a location that not only showcased the beauty of Revelstoke Mountain Resort but also provided a picturesque setting they could revisit for years to come. After scouting various locations, we stumbled upon a hidden gem—a serene spot overlooking RMR, adorned with a delicate dusting of snow and offering a mesmerizing view of the Monashee mountain range. It was the perfect setting for Joel and Sheylenne to share a private moment before exchanging their vows.

As we continued our exploration, two other locations stood out as ideal backdrops to capture the essence of Joel and Sheylenne's love story. The first was the charming boat dock nestled along the riverbank. The juxtaposition of the varying shades of grey and blue from the river against the stormy skies created a captivating backdrop for capturing intimate moments with their families. Here, they shared a toast with Sheylenne's favourite beer from Fernie Brewing, aptly named "What the Huck," in celebration of saying "I DO".

Our final destination was Moses Falls, a hidden gem tucked away in the hills of Revelstoke's wilderness. As we made our way through the towering fir trees and moss-covered rocks, the sound of cascading water grew louder, hinting at the enchanting spectacle that awaited us.

Emerging into a clearing, we were met with a scene straight out of a Movie. Layers of rocks formed a natural staircase for the crystal-clear waters to cascade down, creating a mesmerizing display of nature's artistry. Surrounded by the serene beauty of the forest, Joel and Sheylenne stood in awe, of the majesty of God's creation. With the gentle mist from the falls kissing their skin and the tranquil melody of running water, Joel and Sheylenne shared a moment enveloped in a loving embrace as newlyweds. To me it was a scene of unparalleled love, and commitment amongst the untamed wilderness of Revelstoke.

Whenever I think of Joel and Sheylenne's wedding day, I am reminded how blessed I am to be apart of capturing something so special that they can watch and relive every time they see it.
